Radical back in jail after parole error
SARA Jane Olson, a former 1970s anti-fascist radical, is back behind bars after a clerical error led to her being set free too early.

Olson, 61, was a member of the Symbionese Liberation Army. She was detained at Los Angeles International Airport last Friday night after being released on parole a year ahead of time last Monday.

A review showed that a 2004 miscalculation on a murder charge had led to her release. She should not be eligible for parole until March 17 next year.

Olson was charged in 1975 with attempting to bomb police cars. But she vanished soon after she was charged and eventually settled down in Minnesota, where she was a housewife and a mother of three. She was arrested in 1999 after FBI agents acted on a tip from the America's Most Wanted TV programme.
