British postal worker hits $107m jackpot
| POSTAL worker Angela Kelly, 40, has become one of Britain's richest women after winning a £35 million (S$107 million) jackpot with a £1.50 ticket.
The mother-of-one from East Kilbride, near Glasgow in Scotland, said yesterday that she was still in shock after claiming the weekend EuroMillions jackpot despite the odds of 76 million to one. She has overtaken soccer star Wayne Rooney and even princes William and Harry on the Sunday Times Rich List. She plans to leave the sorting office where she has worked for more than 20 years. The weekly interest on her jackpot is equal to her £21,000 annual salary, she said. But she has no plans to go on a spending spree. She wants to move to a bigger house in the same area with her son John, 14, and replace her Seat Ibiza, which was damaged in an accident. 'I'd want to stick with the same car. I like driving small cars,' she said. Her son has already been given a PlayStation 3 games console and now wants a quadbike. She plans to go on holiday to Canada and may visit Hawaii as well.
