New cases linked to school
| LONDON - FORTY-SEVEN new swine flu cases were confirmed in Britain on Tuesday, nearly all of them linked to a school in the West Midlands of England, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 184.
In a statement, the Department of Health said all the cases seen in Britain so far were 'mild' and that there was no evidence of 'widespread community transmission'. 'Forty-seven patients in England have today been confirmed with swine flu,' it said. 'Of these, 44 are linked to an ongoing investigation of a school outbreak in the West Midlands.' According to the latest tally from the World Health Organization, issued on Monday, 12,515 people have been infected with A(H1N1) across 46 countries, including 91 who died. -- AFP | |
