MARSEILLE - RENNES' Cameroon defender Stephane Mbia has snubbed a move to English side Everton for French club Marseille, a source close to the deal revealed on Monday.

The move by the 23-year-old, who had also been an Everton target, had looked in doubt after Marseille president Jean-Claude Dassier insisted at the weekend that the transfer fee of 12 million euros (S$24 million) was 'a little expensive'.

Meanwhile Marseille midfielder Karim Ziani is on the way to German champions VfL Wolfsburg in a deal believed to be worth in the region of seven million euros, according to the same source.
