ROME - BRAZILIAN international Ronaldinho was handed a three-match Italian Cup suspension on Friday for elbowing Lazio's Czech defender David Rozenhal in a last 16 clash.

The decision was reached after disciplinary chiefs viewed television footage of the incident which took place on December 3 in a game won by 2-1 by Lazio.

Ronaldinho's ban will come into effect next season following Milan's exit from the 2008/2009 tournament. -- AFP
