S'pore's Quah wins 100m freestyle heat

SINGAPORE'S Quah Ting Wen won her women's 100m freestyle heat in 56.14sec.

She came out tops in the six-woman field, ahead of Thailand's Natthanan Junkrajang, who finished second in 56.56s. Hungary's Orsolya Tompa finished third in 56.67s.

Quah's effort , just shy of Joscelin Yeo's national record of 56.05s set in 1999, was not enough to earn her a place in the semi-finals.
