The suspect, 30, is said to be a private ambulance driver who allegedly used his company's ambulance for moneylending activities. He is also believed to be a debtor himself.

His 18-year-old accomplice, who was recruited via an Internet chat line, was arrested on the same day.

The duo are believed to be responsible for harassing their victims by splashing paint on their cars.

Police nabbed the two men with the help of a member of public who saw the man loitering suspiciously in the vicinity of her residence at Jelapang Road on June 25, after discovering paint splashed on her door. The suspect was then seen leaving the area in a private ambulance.

The woman then called the police, who mounted an investigation that led to the arrest a few days later.

Police found various loan-shark-related paraphernalia, including paint packed into small plastic packets and boxes of coloured crayons, in the suspect's ambulance.

Three ATM cards, two handphones and two notebooks with debtor records were also seized.

Both suspects will be charged in Court on Wednesday for loan-shark harassment.
