M-cyclist dies in collision

| A MOTORCYCLIST died on Wednesday after his two-wheeler collided with a lorry at the junction of Pioneer Road and Pioneer Walk.
The lorry was making a right turn along Pioneer Road when the incident happened. Both the motorcyclist, 32, and his pillion rider, 23, who are Malaysians, suffered head injuries. But the older man died two hours later in hospital. His passenger is still warded in the intensive care unit. The lorry driver was unhurt and is assisting police with investigations. In another road collision on Wednesday morning, a Vietnamese tourist and three others were injured. The tourist, a 30-year-old man, was in a taxi at the junction of Aljunied Road and Merpati Road, when it struck a car coming from the other direction at 12.55am. The tourist suffered head injuries, while the taxi driver, 51, hurt his face. The car driver, a 20-year-old man, hurt his leg while his front seat passenger, a 22-year-old woman, cut her arm. Witnesses to both incidents should call the police at 1800-547-1818. | |
