World Cyber Games returns
| By Serene Luo | |
| THE World Cyber Games (WCG) will return to Singapore for the fourth year in July, despite rumours that it would not be back.
Singapore will also be hosting the Asian Championship leg of the games concurrently, beating out Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam, said director of WCG's marketing division Jason Ahn. The national finals start on July 3, at which players must win in order to represent Singapore in the grand finals worldwide. They are held in Chengdu, China, this year in November. While there are the usual crowd favourites like CounterStrike, Warcraft 3, and Dota All Stars, there are many more casual games such as puzzle game Groword and Guitar Hero World Tour. This is because 'there is a trend towards more casual gamers and female gamers', Mr Ahn said, and these games will attract more to take part.
