9-day fun at the museums
THE stately 121-year-old National Museum of Singapore turns into a festive carnival ground from 10am to 5pm this Sunday.

The Family Fun Carnival will feature lots of free activities such as stone painting, face painting and sand art.

The event also marks this year's annual International Museum Day (IMD), but the National Heritage Board (NHB) has turned it into a nine-day-long celebration just in time for the school holidays.

It hopes to attract 100,000 visitors to all participating museums during this period.

The activities planned will be welcomed by parents wondering how to entertain their kids during the holidays.

They could earmark May 31 as a day for family cultural fun, for example, as it is Open House at all eight NHB museums.
