More clinics set for pandemic

| SINCE the Health Minister's lament last week that only 800 of the 1,400 private clinics in Singapore are ready to tackle the flu, over 60 have signed up.
This number, though, still falls short of the estimated 1,000 such facilities the country needs if a pandemic does strike. Dr Tan Sze Wee, a council member of the Singapore Medical Association (SMA), said more doctors were coming forward - albeit slowly - to sign their practices up as Pandemic Preparedness Clinics, or PPCs.
