5 more quarantined
FIVE more people were issued the Home Quarantine Order (HQO) on Tuesday, bringing the total number of HQOs given out to date, to eight.

Six HQOs were issued to Singaporeans, while two were issued to foreign residents.

In a statement sent to the media late on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health (MOH) also said that that there are still no human cases of H1N1 in Singapore.

MOH added that two additional cases were brought into investigations on Tuesday.

Under the HQO, travellers entering Singapore with a travel history to Mexico over the past seven days will be quarantined for seven days when they enter Singapore from when they were last in Mexico.

Whilst travellers returning from other areas with evidence of community transmission of the H1N1 flu (US states of California, New York and Texas; and the Province of Nova Scotia in Canada), are not issued with HQOs, MOH advises them to undergo seven days of self-quarantine.

Members of the public are strongly advised to exercise caution over travel to affected areas. High standards of personal hygiene, such as washing hands frequently with soap and water, should also be maintained.
