| TEN outstanding projects were awarded the Building and Construction Authority's (BCA) Universal Design Awards on Tuesday.
Awards are given to buildings or structures whose design caters to the needs of various groups of people and allows for seamless movement within the building. The only gold award given out this year went to the integrated lifestyle hub comprising the Sengkang Sports and Recreation Centre and the Anchorvale Community Club. The lifestyle hub features ramps in both lap and children's play pools, enabling those with mobility difficulties to access the pools with ease. It also contains family-friendly facilities such as a well-furnished diaper changing station. Other winning projects include shopping centre VivoCity, which clinched a silver. KK Women's and Children's Hospital gained a bronze award for its refurbished building. | |
