Goose to vanish from plates

GOOSE will disappear from dining tables in Singapore within a few months.

Blame the dry-up in supply on bird flu outbreaks in two major exporting countries, China and Taiwan, which has led to an import ban.

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) has not banned goose from Western sources, but Singapore restaurants baulk at the higher prices they charge.
