A MAN was charged in court on Friday with assisting a loanshark to carry on a money lending business.

Andy Teo Zheng Hao, 21, is said to have intentionally helped one 'Martell' to perform electronic monetary transactions using an ATM card to facilitate the latter's business between March 2 and April 14.

He is remanded. The case will come up for mention again on Friday.

If convicted, he faces a fine of between $20,000 and $200000 and/or a jail term of up to two years.
