| TITLE sponsors for this year's Singapore Formula One Grand Prix have started the countdown early with more prizes, grid girls and opportunities for the public to try out F1 simulators.
SingTel, which also sponsored the inaugural F1 night race last year, is offering fans a chance to win race passes and premiums worth over $100,000, through its revamped race website. The sponsorship activities kick off this week - a month earlier than last year. Speed demons who could not get enough of the two F1 simulators last year can also get behind the wheel at 13 scheduled roadshows. This time, both machines will be available side-by-side, so fans can race together in real time. SingTel is also bringing in fresh faces to beef up its line-up of Singapore grid girls, whose role on race day is to guide the cars to their starting positions. They will be selected via a new 16-part television series, to be screened starting this Thursday. "Last year's race won praise from all corners and we are extremely proud to have been part of this history-making event,' saidChua Sock Koong, Group CEO, SingTel. "This year, we hope to bring the magic of the races to everyone, not just hardcore fans and those who have tickets, as we believe this is an event that the whole of Singapore should celebrate." | |
