Charged with slashing woman

| A MAN was charged with court on Monday with slashing a woman at Bukit Batok Central void deck last Wednesday.
Nathan Sinakarappan, 62, is accusing of having voluntarily caused grievous hurt by using a chopper to slash Madam Singaravallye Karppiah,59, a factory worker, on the head. The attack allegedly took place last Wednesday at about 4.30pm. He will be remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric assessment for two weeks. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in jail, fine or caning. | |
