| IT IS lunchtime at the Singapore General Hospital.
At the bustling Houseman's Canteen, eight young doctors are on their break. Before they tuck into their meal, they remove their stethoscopes from their necks and lay them on the table. It is a common habit which could have regrettable consequences, noted three final-year Swedish medical students, writing on infection control at SGH after a five-week stint there.
