| WHEN Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa open at the end of the year and early next year, it is not just the Las Vegas style casinos and luxe hotels that will grab the spotlight.
Music fans too will have reason to cheer as these Integrated Resorts (IR) will also feature spanking new concert halls. These new purpose-built venues for world class music acts will be an alternative to current aging venues such as the Singapore Indoor Stadium and Fort Canning Park. An estimated 13 new venues accommodating up to 15,000 seats in total will be coming onsteam, a boon for concertgoers who have long complained of inadequate sound systems and rickety seats at current concert venues such as the 20-year-old Singapore Indoor Stadium and the cavernous Suntec auditoriums.
