More trouble at swimming club

| YET another dispute is broiling at the Singapore Swimming Club.
Four members of the club's previous management committee have filed a defamation suit against sitting president Freddie Koh Sin Chong, alleging that the minutes of management meetings which he approved cast aspersions on them. The quartet are the immediate past president Bernard Chan Cheng Wah, his vice-president Robin Tan Hock Lay, his treasurer Nicholas Chong Tjee Teng and the former facilities chairman Ho Bok Kee. Mr Koh's team took over from MrChan's last May. In court papers filed on Monday last week, the four alleged that the minutes of management committee meetings held last October and November implied that they had 'intentionally misrepresented', that is, oversold, the case for replacing the water filtration system for the club's swimming pool. They also allege that the minutes implied that they 'had not acted in the interests of the club' and had 'misused or abused' funds by installing the $168,000 filtration system.
