Buvanesvaren K. Manogharan, 17, is alleged to have used the counterfeit note as genuine at a coffeeshop at Block 101 Yishun Avenue 5 last Saturday.

If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine.

He is being remanded at Central police divion for investigation.

He will be back in court on Jan 15.
