Christele Denise Simone Gandie Espalieu, 44, pleaded guilty to filching a pair of Porsche Design sunglasses worth $560 at Luxury Fashion Shop at Changi Airport departure transit hall last Saturday.

The court heard that she arrived at about 7.30am from Paris enroute to Phuket.

About an hour later, a store assistant of the shop saw her removing the sunglasses from the display shelf and placed it inside her handbag.

She was detained when she walked out of the shop without paying for it.

She could have been jailed for up to seven years and fined for theft.
