While the Caucasian woman seems to have surfaced, 19-year-old Sarawanan Saundarapandian is still missing, said Mr Sarawanan's cousin Mr Vicky Munisamy, 27, a sales officer.

Police said they were informed that a man had fallen into the river at 80 Mohamed Sultan Road at 2.25 in the morning.

Operations are on-going to locate the missing person.
