| A MAN who molested three women within two months was sentenced to 10 months' jail and three strokes of the cane on Thursday.
Sayed Ahmed Peer Mohamud, 36, then a hotel captain, pleaded guilty to two counts and had a third charge taken into consideration. A district court heard that he grabbed a 23-year-old woman's breasts and covered her mouth when she was walking home at an open carpark at Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4 past midnight on June 21. The victim shouted for help and he pushed her, causing her to fall. She then kicked him on the legs. Less than an hour later, he molested another woman but this charge was considered during his sentencing by District Judge James Leong. On Aug 13, Sayed was queuing infront of a 23-year-old woman at Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange when he signalled to her to move on first. When she walked past him, she felt someone rubbing against her buttock. She turned around and saw Sayed's hand on her buttock. Sayed, whose wife is expecting their third child, has a similar conviction in 2002. He could have been jailed for up to two years or fined or caned or received any combined punishments on each charge. | |
