A MAN who has been charged with threatening to kill his former girlfriend was accused on Thursday of slapping her several times as well.

Chan Yeow Hong, 36, a property agent, allegedly slapped Ms Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, 27, at a flat in Bedok Reservoir Road on Aug 31.

The first charge states that he threatened to kill her and then kill himself while holding onto a chopper that day.

He is out on bail and will return on Jan 9.

If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine of up to $5,000 for causing hurt.

For criminal intimidation, he can be jailed for up to two years or fined or both.
