Parental Connections Matchmaking session
Younger parents turn up
THE second Parental Connections Matchmaking session was held at the Singapore Turf Club on Sunday.

This time younger parents are coming forward to find a partner for their children.

Over 60 hopeful parents who are in their 40s to 60s turned up with photographs and personal information like the educational background, hobbies and contact details of their unmarried children.

To help parents better communicate the concept of modern-day matchmaking to their often reserved children, a short seminar that was conducted in Mandarin was also incorporated into this meet-the-parent session.

'What we (have been) trying to do for the last few years is to make dating as part of a lifestyle,' says Jackiey Kwek, co-founder of Clique Wise, social events company and organiser of Parental Connections.

The seminar also aims to address common misconceptions regarding the idea of modern day matchmaking that singles may harbor and to encourage them to start dating sooner rather than later.
