Food prices rising
By Jessica Lim
JUST months after food prices began retreating from record highs, the tab on some products is rising again, sparked in large part by the weakening Singapore dollar.

About 45 products - mostly canned food, biscuits and condiments - have seen their price tags jump up to 25 per cent as the buying power of importers shrinks.

At some supermarkets, a 450g bottle of AAA Black Beans now costs $1.75, up from $1.50 last month. A 700g packet of Vits plain noodles now costs $2.30, up from $1.85 over the same period.
