By Nicholas Yong

THE Singapore Aviation Academy or SAA, has extended collaboration with a US counterpart in the area of specialised aviation training and development.

The training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on Tuesday inked a Memorandum of Understanding with MITRE Aviation Institute (MAI), to increase cooperation in areas such as aviation safety and air navigation service provision.

CAAS Director-General and CEO Lim Kim Choon, who witnessed the signing, said the MOU demonstrates both parties? commitment to promoting international human capital development in aviation.

CASS has collaborated on numerous occasions with MITRE Corporation, an established research and consultancy institution sponsored by the US government.

MITRE works through MAI to offer training in, among others, air traffic services and aviation safety and security.
