The bridge to art
| By Adeline Chia | |
| THERE was magic in the air at Boat Quay last night as performers used the 300m-long Cavenagh Bridge as a stage. Korean sangmo dancers twirled coloured ribbons attached to their heads, and Chinese martial arts experts showed off their moves.
This exuberant display unfolded against a gigantic 9m-wide moon made of gauze which shone over the Singapore River. The free outdoor show, titled Origin, featured more than 50 performers from traditional arts groups in Asia. Directed by Toy Factory Productions' Goh Boon Teck, it opened the Asia On The Edge festival organised by The Arts House. Origin will be staged at the Cavenagh Bridge again tonight at 8pm and 9.30pm. Admission is free. | |
