| AVIATION safety was given a lift on Monday, with the opening of the Singapore Aviation Academy's (SAA) fourth specialised aviation training school.
The School of Civil Aviation Safety and Security was officially opened by Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Director-General and CEO Lim Kim Choon on Monday morning. The School will develop and conduct innovative safety and security training programmes to meet the industry. It will initially offer 16 specialised courses, designed to address current topical subjects as such as safety oversight and aircraft accident investigation. The School of Civil Aviation Safety is the first new school to be founded in 16 years. The three existing specialised schools are the School of Aviation Management, the School of Air Traffic Services and the School of Airport Emergency Services. First established in 1958, the SAA has trained almost 45,000 participants from 190 countries. | |
