By Elena Chong

AN UNEMPLOYED man was charged with the murder of a real estate agent in Bukit Batok nature reserve last month.

Rosli Yassin, 49, who made his third appearance in court, is alleged to have caused the death of Ms Choo Xue Ying, 47, at Lorong Sesuai between 2pm and 4pm on Oct 16.

He was first produced in court on Nov 1 for allegedly cheating Mr Adros Syed Omar of $1,400 in Geylang on Oct 18.

He is said to have committed the offence with another by making the victim believe that an OCBC cheque for $500,000 would be honoured and induced him to hand over $1,400 to him.

Two days later, he is said to have again cheated Mr Adros of $10,000 by making him believe that the $500,000 OCBC cheque would be honoured.

Rosli has also been accused of stealing Ms Choo's handbag with her personal belongings, including an OCBC cheque book, credit cards and mobile phones, as well as her Cherry QQ car on Oct 16.

He was remanded for psychiatric examination.

His next court date will be Dec 4.
