Platform for elderly views
| By Lee Hui Chieh | |
| A PROGRAMME has been set up to let the views of older people be heard.
Through focus group sessions, those aged 50 and above can discuss issues related to ageing, such as job and housing options for older people. The Tsao Foundation, a group focusing on elderly welfare which is behind the programme, collates the feedback into reports, which it will submit to various ministries. It has already submitted its first report on elderly housing to the Ministry of National Development. That report summed up the views of about 300 people who took part in more than 30 focus group sessions from May to Oct this year. The Voices of Older People Programme was officially launched on Wednesday night by Parliamentary Secretary for National Development Mohamad Maliki Osman. | |
