This following the conclusion of an Open Skies Agreement, or OSA, between the two countries.

A Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services was signed between the two governments in Kuwait City on Tuesday.

It was witnessed by Singapore's President S R Nathan and Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

President Nathan is currently on a state visit to Kuwait.

'This is a very positive agreement that demonstrates our countries' commitment to promoting liberalisation in the aviation industry,' said Mr Lim Kim Choon, Director-General and CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, who signed the MOU on Singapore's behalf.

With the Singapore-Kuwait OSA, the Republic has now inked OSAs with more than 30 countries.

Currently, Singapore Airlines Cargo operates two weekly freighter flights between Singapore and Kuwait.
