| FIVE thefts were reported during the Deepavali festive week.
A hand bag was snatched from a 14-year-old student in Ang Mo Kio Hub on Oct 27 at about 4.15pm near a neoprint machine. On the same day, a gold necklace and jade pendant worth about $500 was snatched from a 68-year-old woman as she was stepping out from a lift in Block 139 in Chompang. Another handbag was taken from a 60-year-old woman as she was walking along Cantonment Road at about 8.35pm on Oct 31. Hours later, a cash card was taken from a car parked outside Lengkong Garden. A laptop that cost about $2,000 was stolen from the flat of a 31-year-old woman in Block 206C in Compassvale Lane between Oct 31 and the early Nov 1. | |
