Duxton vice
BEFORE the sun sets over Duxton Road in Tanjong Pagar, scores of Filipinas walking together in small groups can be seen converging on the pubs and KTV lounges dotting the narrow street.

They are dressed modestly, usually in jeans and T-shirts, and carry with them packets of food. In their clutch bags are short dresses, tube tops, miniskirts and pumps, which they quickly slip into the moment the darkened glass doors of the pubs close behind them.

Inside, they wait for male patrons, and the kind of parties that go on behind these dark-tinted doors till 3am are nothing short of lewd.
