A hot Chingay Parade
By Serene Luo

YOU can expect a hot, hot Chingay Parade at the next Lunar New Year.

In the opening segment alone, a three-headed dragon float designed by the Nanyang Technological University will spit fire at crowds.

And a group from Chongqing, China, will spew molten iron and dance among crackling fireworks in a special dance.

These highlights, among others, were unveiled at a People's Association press conference on Wednesday morning.

The street carnival, which will carry the theme of Wonderland this time, will return on Jan 30 and 31, and loop the City Hall circuit.

Some 3,800 performers and 13 floats will be taking part.
