| CHINESE national Wang Zhijian, 42, who is linked to the deaths of three women in Yishun in Sept, made a quick appearance in a district court on Friday morning.
Shackled and dressed in a white t-shirt, he flashed a toothy grin at a group of women sitting in the dock as police officers led him away. He did not receive any additional charges but was remanded for further psychiatric assessment at Changi Prison's medical centre. Wang has been charged with murdering Ms Zhang Meng, 42, her daughter Feng Jianyu, 17 and attempting to kill a 15-year-old girl who had multiple stab wounds all over her body. The girl was released from hospital on Oct 2. All three were found in a Yishun flat on Sept 19 where they lived with Wang and the 15-year-old girl's mother Ms Yang Jie. Ms Yang, 36, was found dead at the foot of the same block but it is not clear how she fell out of the unit's kitchen window. Wang is due back in court on Nov 7. | |
