Friendster #1 in S'pore
It is the most popular social networking website here.
FRIENDSTER is the number one social networking website in Singapore, and is 1.8 times bigger than the next largest one, according to data from third-party Internet measurement company comScore.

Using figures gathered in August 2008, the website (www.friendster.com) recorded 974,000 unique visitors, compared to Facebook at 544,000, and MySpace at 157,000.

This makes Friendster almost two times larger than Facebook and more than 6 times larger than MySpace in Singapore.

The top-20 global website based on traffic also said that it has more unique visitors in Singapore than any other social network in each and every age group.

In the combined 25-54 adult age range, Friendster has 527,000 monthly unique visitors, putting it 1.5 times larger than Facebook in Singapore.

The San Francisco-based company also claims that it leads all other social networking sites in Singapore in user engagement, an important metric of how much time the average visitor spends on a website.

In August, visitors to Friendster spent an average of 107 minutes on Friendster compared to 102 minutes on Facebook and 44 minutes on MySpace, making it 'the most social and engaging of all three networks'.

According to Friendster, there are 1.6 million registered users in Singapore, which means about 60 per cent of Singapore's Internet users have a Friendster account.

Friendster has more than 85 million users worldwide, and is the leading social network in Asia, according to Google Analytics and Friendster internal data.
