5 vehicles broken into

THIEVES broke into three taxis, a lorry and a van last week and got away with cash and valuables totalling $2,200.

Two of the break-in took place last Wednesday.

The driver of the van had locked and left it at the carpark at Block 573, Ang Mo Kio Avenue. When he returned the following morning, he found the door unlocked and a cashcard worth about $11 missing.

On the same day, three taxis were parked at a multi-storey carpark in Block 345A, Tampines Street 33, were broken.

One of the taxi drivers had left his taxi at the carpark on Wednesday night but when the 42-year-old driver returned the following morning, he found the window on the driver's side of his taxi smashed. He lost $45.

The driver of the second taxi lost a wallet containing $1,200 and coins worth $150, while the third had coins worth $50 and a $50 cashcard stolen.

The fifth break-in took place on Friday afternoon.

A 22-year-old lorry driver lost more than $700 in cash and valuables.

He had left his lorry unlocked at the loading bay of Fullerton Hotel. When he returned three hours later, he found two watches worth $700 in total, $30 and two credit cards missing.
