Blinded worker compensated
By K.C. Vijayan
AN INDIAN worker blinded in one eye will now get $57,000 in compensation from his employer, with the High Court's reversal of the labour courts' verdict.

This is the third reported case in seven months in which the courts have overturned decisions of the Commissioner of Labour. A High Court judgment on a fourth is pending.

Justice Andrew Ang, who on Monday heard the appeal by Mr Rasu Prasath, 27, also ordered B. T. Ng Engineering and its insurers to pay costs.
