The burgled coffeeshop at Block 133, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 lost cigarettes worth $2,600 and $200 in cash.

An employee had secured the shop at about 12.45am and left. But when another employee turned up for work at about 5.20am on Friday, he found the rear metal gate forced open, and items missing from the shop.

In the second break-in, a woman in her early 30s reported to police she lost more than $4,500 in cash and valuables from her flat at Block 706, Chua Chu Kang Street 53.

She locked up her unit on Friday morning and left for work.

But when she returned at 6.30pm, she found the window facing the corridor tampered with.

She lost $500 in cash, a $600 watch, an assortment of jewellery worth $3,500 and some personal documents.
