TWO serious road traffic accidents took place on Monday afternoon. In the first accident, a motorcyclist died after his bike crashed into the centre road divider at about 12.30pm. The 25-year-old petrol station attendant was travelling in the centre lane, along Yishun Avenue 2, when his bike brushed against a lorry that he was overtaking, said police. The bike veered off the road and hit the centre divider, resulting in serious head injuries for the motorcyclist. He was pronounced dead on the spot by paramedics. The second accident left a 34-year-old motorcyclist with serious head injuries, while his 28-year-old pillion rider suffered abrasions on the limbs. At about 3.30pm, the pair were travelling on the extreme right lane along Woodlands Avenue 12, going towards Gambas Avenue. While filtering left, the bike collided with a lorry in the centre lane and was thrown to the right, where it crashed into a car. Both motorcyclist and pillion rider were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. | |
