Mr Koh Poh Tiong, 61, doesn't expect his first question for this interview to be such a personal one. But the chief executive officer of Asia Pacific Breweries is not flummoxed. 'I gave a lift to my neighbour's son and dropped him off at his school,' he proffers readily. 'I saved him a 15-minute walk out to the main road, as well as his bus fare,' he adds, looking chuffed. The trim and distinguished-looking corporate honcho has obviously not forgotten the values he picked up as a boy scout almost half a century ago. 'We would tie a knot on our handkerchief to remind ourselves to do a good deed each day. You could only untie it after you'd done someone a good turn,' he recalls.
