MOST COE prices have recovered modestly from among the lowest levels this year, as price cuts sent more buyers back to showrooms. Certificate of entitlement for cars up to 1,600cc rebounded by 6.3 per cent to end at $13,289 at the close of Wednesday's tender. Premiums for cars above 1,600cc rose by 7.8 per cent to $13,890. The Open COE, used mainly for cars, however dipped 0.7 per cent to finish at $14,001 - the third lowest level this year. Elsewhere, the commercial vehicle COE climbed 3.2 per cent to end at $12,989. The motorcycle COE slid 7.3 per cent to close at $1,310. Despite the rebound, premiums are still relatively soft, reflecting an overall cautious consumer sentiment. | |
