Thailand buys Embraer jet

SAO PAULO - BRAZILIAN airline company Embraer has sold an ERJ 135 aircraft to the Thai military, which will be used for transporting civilian and military personnel, the aircraft manufacturer reported on Thursday.

The order, to be delivered in 2009 for an undisclosed amount, adds to Thailand's 2008 purchase of two other ERJ 135 airplanes, one of which was used for the Royal Thai Army and the other for the Royal Thai Navy, Embraer said.

The Brazilian company is the third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer in the world, behind Airbus and Boeing. -- AFP
