KUALA LUMPUR - IN ANOTHER case of cruelty, a four-year-old Malaysian boy died in a hospital here after he was allegedly abused for three months by his mother's boyfriend. The boy was rushed to the Selayang Hospital at about 5am on Wednesday by his mother, her boyfriend and a few of her neighbours after he suddenly had fits. The boy died about an hour later while being treated at the hospital. It is learnt there were bruises on his body and strangle marks on his neck. One of the neighbours, who refused to be identified, said the woman's boyfriend went missing after he learnt of the boy's death. The neighbour said he did not know much about the family as they were not very friendly. 'We used to hear someone crying in the house,' he said when met at his house in Taman Kok Doh, Segambut. According to the boy's aunty, the mother was a sales girl in a shop near their house. She said her sister, who was separated from her husband for five years, had been living with her boyfriend for the past three months. However, she had never complained about her son being abused. 'We never approved of her living with the man as he is married with two kids, but she did not listen to our advice,' she said. Police have recorded statements from boy's mother, the neighbours and her family members. -- THE STAR | |
