STI closes 0.27% higher

SINGAPORE shares closed 0.27 per cent higher on Tuesday on gains in selected blue-chips, dealers said. The main Straits Times Index was up 6.17 points at 2,272.26. About 1.1 billion shares exchanged hands. Losers beat gainers 207 to 170. -- AFP
