Past meets present

LOCAL music fans, fret not if you missed the Singapore River Festival concerts which boasted several generations of home-grown bands from the 1960s to the 2000s last week.

Two more series of concerts coming up in the next two months will continue the trend of gigs that showcase the evolution of Singapore's musical talents.

Even better news: All the performances are free. As part of the Singapore HeritageFest, the National Heritage Board will stage a series of shows, Sound Stories, with acts such as veteran xinyao singer Roy Loi and Malay songstress Rahimah Rahim, at VivoCity and Causeway Point from July 18 to 25.
