PARIS - FRENCH police on Tuesday detained Dutch supermodel Karen Mulder as they investigated a complaint she had harassed a cosmetic surgeon friend, police said.

The model was being held in a police station in the chic 8th arrondissement, or district, of Paris, the source said, adding she was suspected of harassing the doctor by telephone after the surgeon refused to carry out an operation.

The blonde has modelled clothes for Yves Saint-Laurent, Chanel, Valentino, and Versace. -- AFP
