LAPD holding Rihanna's jewels
| LOS ANGELES - THE LOS Angeles Police Department still have jewellery worn by Rihanna the night of her alleged beating by singer Chris Brown said reports on Monday.
Four jewellers are attempting to get the LAPD to return the approximately US$1 million ($1.38 million) worth of accessories worn by Rihanna in preparation for her appearance at a pre-Grammy party. According to a diamond industry website,Israel Diamond Industry Portal, Rihanna had every intention of returning it to the designers but the jewellery was seized by the police. "Since there appears to be no evidentiary value to the continued holding of this jewellery ... we respectfully ask the court to order the return of this property to Rihanna without further delay," her lawyer Donald Etra wrote in a court request filed earlier this week. Chris Brown now faces a possible six year jail sentence for the alleged attack. -- AP | |
